This project became possible thanks to the international collaboration of architects, engineers, builders, doctors, managers, volunteers, and donors from Ukraine, Poland, and the United States. It is a modern healthcare facility designed with meticulous attention to detail to ensure comfort for both patients and medical staff. The building is equipped with high-quality medical equipment, allowing children to receive the care they need in accordance with modern medical standards in a safe and comfortable environment. The construction of the new facility was made possible through the HORIZON project, “A New Model of Pediatric Healthcare Infrastructure in Ukraine,” implemented by Sunflower Network in partnership with the Brody City Council and Brody Central City Hospital. The American partners took responsibility for both the design and funding of the pediatric building. This was made possible through private charitable donations, crowdfunding initiatives, donated equipment and supplies, and the personal contributions of dozens of professionals and teams who worked on the project on a voluntary basis. One of the most remarkable aspects of this project is that, for the first time in Ukraine, modular systems manufactured by the Polish company Climatic-Budownictwo Modułowe were used for its construction, financed by the American charitable organization Sunflower Network. The approximately 700 m² building consists of 11 steel modules, and the crucial assembly stage took just one day. In addition to creating a modern medical environment, the project also includes a comprehensive underground shelter to provide additional safety for young patients and medical staff. This is an important investment in the local community and Ukraine’s healthcare system, as well as a powerful example of how international partnerships, modern technologies, and human compassion can create critically important projects even during challenging wartime conditions. Because this project is about much more than construction. It is about trust, partnership, humanity, and belief in Ukraine. My sincere thanks to CannonDesign for inviting me to contribute to this project and for giving me the opportunity to help present this important facility to a wider audience through photography. Special thanks to Myroslav Tymus, Director of the hospital, for his trust, support, and invaluable assistance in organizing and carrying out the photo shoot.
